Goose Lane Egg Farm is a diversified produce and poultry operation. We have worked hard to develop our systems and infrastructure needed to run an efficient and productive operation. We seek crew members who have experience with farming or physical labor, a sense of humor, and a commitment to providing local food. The farm team is based on a solid work crew and we expect everyone to pull their weight. Please find our open positions below.
~Produce field and wash/pack crew: Full-time positions are Monday through Friday, 7am-6pm or so. During the heat of the summer we may start at 6am. Some flexibility is important. Saturday and Sunday hours are also available. You will be planting, and harvesting crops from our numerous hoop houses and fields, primarily in the morning, then transitioning to washing/packing in our packing shed. Lunch break is at noon.
~ Wash and pack area crew: Monday -Friday 1pm-6pm or so. Duties will include washing, sorting, and bundling/packaging a variety of produce for farmers markets, CSA and wholesale. Hours may vary throughout the season.
~Pasture-based Poultry crew member- Part-time 7am-11am (may increase to full-time). Duties will include feeding, collecting eggs, moving chicken houses, managing daily care of poultry. Every Tuesday you will assist with processing of chickens, and packing. (Some knife skill is required). We take a lot of pride in our animals and there well being. This is a very serious position for someone interested or experienced with livestock.
~Farmers Market staff-must be available Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Hours vary by the market. Duties will include loading/unloading box truck, setting up and tearing down at farmers markets, as well as assisting customers with their purchases. Must have simple math skills, be polite, be able to work in a fast pace, and have a general knowledge of produce.
